Photo Holiday Week 4 October 2008

Bookings are now being taken for a photo course week commencing Saturday 4 October 2008 for 6 days.  Photographers of any level of experience are welcome at any time of year but we decided to run a dedicated course in early October 2008, to collect 4 photographers together and benefit from the stunning light of early October.  It's long and angled, a photographer's dream, and there are no end of subjects that we can experiment with during the week.  For example, in the past we have had days shooting life on the farm; the port of Stromness with its photogenic waterfront neuks and closes; the barriers and their blockships; and so on - the list is endless.  Just for fun, here are some "portrait" style examples from 2007:

To show that we don't always have our eyes on the bigger picture of Orkney's sweeping land, sky and seascapes, there are examples below of more detailed photography.  We'll take care to show you examples of current photographic exhibitions whilst you're here with us, and we will even line up an Orcadian photographer or two to talk to during the week to stimulate your creativity!  We will teach you the basics of how to enhance your digital photographs using software - for some of our wildlife photographs exhibited in October 2007 click arty birds.  See also Kevin Nelson's fantastic photographs by clicking gallery.

Sarah uses a Canon EOS 20D (plus 400mm lens) and Steve uses a Nikon D40X, but we will be familiar with whatever your chosen camera, be it film, digital, compact or SLR.   As ever you will benefit from unrivalled personal attention whilst staying with Orcadian Wildlife, and travel around in our Land Rover Discovery TD5.  We are happy to work with any level of photographer from beginner to professional!  Prices are £900 per person per week, a little extra than normal just to cover tuition fees.  To book click onto 2008 bookings

We look forward to sharing in your creativity.....
