2010 Offers, Prices, Terms and Conditions

The price for six nights holiday accommodation at Gerraquoy Organic Farm, meals and guiding services commencing at 5pm on Saturdays and finishing at 5pm the following Friday is £995 per person per week May - September inclusive. 

Please note that late season guests in October 2010 (but not photography or seal pupping weeks) can benefit from a substantial price reduction of £900 total (10% less).  Please email or phone for availability.

In addition, for guests short of time, special two or three day breaks may also available, priced £375 and £550 respectively (or 4 days £650 per person).  Again, please email or phone for availability.

In 2010 there are additional special weeks planned:  Photo course week (Saturday 2 - Friday 8 October); and a seal pupping week (Saturday 23 - Friday 29 October).  Prices for these weeks are also £995 per person per week.

Self-catering rates in the Peedie House are £325 per week April and October, and £350 per week May - September 2010 inclusive.

Our Commitment to You

1.      A booking is deemed to be accepted after receipt of a booking form and the sum of 20% deposit, and after receipt     by you of an invoice thereafter.
 

2.      We will do our utmost to provide the holiday and services that you have booked, but reserve the right to modify or cancel any holiday, tour or accommodation arrangement if any unanticipated event of a major nature arises.  If such circumstances changes the nature of your holiday we will offer a full refund or offer an alternative holiday date(s) to the value of that replaced.
 

3.      We also reserve the right not to operate tours on which there are insufficient bookings four weeks before departure.  Full payment and your deposit will be refunded, and an alternative date(s) offered for your consideration.
 

4.      Your satisfaction is very important to us as our policy is to encourage repeat visits.  Any formal complaints will be investigated and replied to not more than 28 days after receipt.
 

5.      Orcadian Wildlife partners are covered by personal and professional insurance for their actions.  Details of this policy cover are available on request.  Please note that this does not cover your booking (if cancelled by either party), baggage, personal belongings and your personal security, which are at all times the responsibility of clients. We re-emphasise that we strongly advise that you take out insurance at the time of booking to guard against damage or loss to personal property or personal injury.
 

6.      For the avoidance of doubt, please note that the following items are included in the holiday price:  Pick up from airport, ferry or bus terminals on Orkney; all accommodation, towels and linen; all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner); travel on Orkney and ferry charges to all islands except North Ronaldsay and Papa Westray; entrance charges to monuments visited except for short breaks when these are charged at cost.
 

7.      A room booked as a “double” contains a standard sized double bed.  A room booked on a single basis contains a standard sized double bed.  Bathroom facilities are en suite.
 

8.      For your comfort and that of our other guests, and in order to comply with national legislation, smoking is not permitted in the farmhouse or vehicle.

Your Commitment to us

 1.      On booking you will be required to send a completed booking form and 20% deposit to Orcadian Wildlife.  The deposit paid by you is a sign of your willingness to enter into a contract with Orcadian Wildlife for holiday accommodation and guiding services.  We will then send you an invoice for the remainder, at which point you enter into a contract formed with Sarah and Stephen Sankey, trading as Orcadian Wildlife.

2.      The outstanding balance must be paid within 8 weeks of the date of the start of your holiday.  Should this balance fail to reach us by the specified date on your invoice we reserve the right to cancel your booking without the return of your deposit.
 

3.      You may cancel your booking at any time provided that you do so in writing.  The following financial penalties will apply, in addition to the retention by us of your deposit:

    Over 56 days (8 weeks)               10% deposit only
    56 days – 29 days                         50% of balance plus deposit
    Less than 28 days (4 weeks)         100% of balance plus deposit
 

4.      We strongly advise that you take out insurance at the time of booking to guard against such cancellation.
 

5.      Rather than cancel we are happy for you to substitute a named person(s) in your stead, provided that the booking is of the same type and week, and that you give at least four weeks advance notice of your intent in writing.
 

6.      A booking made on a single room basis is accepted only on the understanding that we may charge a single room supplement of £150 in high season (May - June inclusive).  This will be clarified by Orcadian Wildlife on booking.
 

7.      All baggage, personal belongings and your personal security are at all times the responsibility of clients. We strongly advise that you take out insurance at the time of booking to guard against damage or loss to personal property or personal injury.
 

8.      If you are dis-satisfied at any time with our service or facilities please notify us immediately so that we can deal with the matter promptly.  Your satisfaction is very important to us as we encourage repeat visits.  Any formal complaints must be notified in writing not more than 28 days after the date of your holiday.
 

9.      Data Protection Act information: all names and addresses of Orcadian Wildlife clients are held on computer.  Names are deleted after three years if no booking is made.  Our policy is not to pass our clients details on to any third party.  If you do not wish your name and enquiry details to be stored on computer please inform us and we will not do so.
 

10.  Please note that the following items are not included in the holiday price: Travel to Orkney; travel by air to North Ronaldsay and Papa Westray (£85 surcharge per person per day); any alcoholic drinks, souvenirs or additional snacks purchased.
